1.2.2 Primary and Secondary Research
The great tree of knowledge grows tall with countless
interwoven branches of insight. Yet its roots plunge into the
soil. To expand understanding, we must gather the fruits
Growth through already grown while planting seeds for further growth. Like
observation and a botanist in the wilderness, the primary researcher explores
experimentation lands unknown, collecting exotic samples to study in detail.
This pioneer maps uncharted territory, relying on the power
of direct observation and original experimentation. Patience
and care are required, for these virgin lands hold treasures
and tricks.
The secondary researcher is like a curator who oversees
the vast garden of human knowledge. Familiar with the
discoveries of the past, the curator assembles fragments of
information into enlightening patterns. The ability to judge

knowledge The curator makes complex knowledge more accessible.
While understanding the big picture, the pioneer researcher
comprehends the details. Working together, they nurture
understanding for future generations. Through gathering and
sharing knowledge, we cultivate the ever-growing tree of
understanding that shelters all who seek it.
1.2.2.1 Primary Research
Primary research refers to the collection of original data
Generates new specifically tailored to a particular research project. This
knowledge form of research is aimed at producing new knowledge and
answering novel questions. It is highly valued in academia
and is a major criterion for publication in academic journals.
Primary research represents the cornerstone of the journey
of inquiry. Rather than simply consuming and interpreting
the findings of others, it allows us to observe phenomena
firsthand, ask new questions and arrive at original insights.
Firsthand It is an act of exploration and invention, not just a summary
inquiry and review. Through primary research, we light our own path
toward truth, charting a course based on our observations,
experiences and reasoning. We rely not on the supposed
authority of others but on the capacity of our own minds
to perceive reality and draw valid conclusions. We gain the
satisfaction of finding things out for ourselves.
There is something fundamentally empowering about
gathering and analysing original data. It spurs critical thinking.
