Message from Vice Chancellor

I greet all of you with deep delight and great excitement. I welcome you to
the Sreenarayanaguru Open University.

Sreenarayanaguru Open University was established in September 2020 as a
state initiative for fostering higher education in open and distance mode. We
shaped our dreams through a pathway defined by a dictum ‘access and quality
define equity’. It provides all reasons to us for the celebration of quality in the
process of education. I am overwhelmed to let you know that we have resolved
not to become ourselves a reason or cause a reason for the dissemination of
inferior education. It sets the pace as well as the destination. The name of the
University centers around the aura of Sreenarayanaguru, the great renaissance
thinker of modern India. His name is a reminder for us to ensure quality in the
delivery of all academic endeavors.

Sreenarayanaguru Open University rests on the practical framework of
the popularly known “blended format”. Learner on distance mode obviously
has limitations in getting exposed to the full potential of classroom learning
experience. Our pedagogical basket has three entities viz Self Learning
Material, Classroom Counselling and Virtual modes. This combination is
expected to provide high voltage in learning as well as teaching experiences.
Care has been taken to ensure quality endeavours across all the entities.

The university is committed to provide you stimulating learning experience.
The post graduate programmes have been designed with a view to foster
curiosity, critical thinking and analytical capability. The university believes
that a post graduate curriculum should have modules on research as systemic
derivative providing ample exposure to the learners as to how they should step
into the realm of research plan. This proposition has a corollary of providing
structured lessons of an unorganised enquiry as a beginning of the so called
academic research. It explains the reasons why the university has drawn up this
course at the post graduate level. I am pretty sure that the content will be of
great value to the learner community as it attempts to take the learners through
a journey into the unknown. We assure you that the university learner support
services will closely stay with you for the redressal of your grievances during
your studentship.
